About ImageMuseum
This part editor ImageMuseum is developed for image layout and image management.
It will add to your container part the function to layout images,
replace an image to another, delete an image, and insert an image
into the images already laid out.
This means that the image laid out is managed as a "image set",
so you can copy all the images to another container part with
just one drag&drop action. (under development)
It can also link text data to image data. When the image data layout is changed,
the text data which related it is changed accordingly. (under development)
This part is useful when you make catalog, digital photographic album, report,
and paper with images.
Currently, ImageMuseum can handle only PICT image, sorry.
Requirements
・ Power Macintosh
・ System 7.5.1 or later
・ OpenDoc DR4 or later installed
・ 16 MB RAM, preferably more
How to install ImageMuseum
Install this part by dragging the editor icon into the editors folder
in your System folder.
Install stationary for this part in your Stationary folder.
And then copy images (eight balls) in ImageMuseum folder into any folder on your disk.
How to use this part
ImageMuseum has several useful functions for image layout.
・Register image data (PICT) by Drag & Drop
Drag & Drop ImageMuseum in the ODFDraw container (or any other container part).
The memory size of the container must be set to 4MB or more.
Drop the "eight ball" image on the ImageMuseum, but
drop the "number 6 ball" image first, the "number 5 ball" second,
... , and drop the "number 1 ball" last, and then 6 images are stacked on this part.
Through the above action, a "image set" is created.
If you need to create another "image set", you can do it just dropping
ImageMuseum stationary into the container again.
・Layout image by Drag & Drop
Pick up its image from this part.
The method of picking up the image is;
1. Just click the image you want to lay out.
2. After the menu changed to the ImageMuseum's
3. Drag the image to any place in the container
4. Drop it.
For example, after the "number 1 ball" image is laid out to another place,
the image in the original frame will be changed to the "number 2 ball".
In this way, the image can be laid out.
・Insert image by Drag & Drop
Asume that the image is already laid out in sequence #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6
(#1 means the "number 1 ball" image), and you need to insert the #7 image
before #3. You don't have to move any images, just need to pick the image #7
from the folder in Finder and drop it on the image #3.
It changes the image automatically and you can see the images in sequence
#1, #2, #7, #3, #4, #5. The #6 image returns back into the original stack.
This is the advantage of this part. This part manages all images
as one or several "image set" and the image in the set has a sequence number.
・Browse image data
Select the menu item "Show/Hide Bitmap Table", then all image in the "image set"
can be seen on the floating window. You can also replace images on the window.
and also delete an image, just dragging it and dropping on the Trash.
・Delete image
You can delete an image from the "image set", you must open the floating window
stated above and drag the image you want to delete on the Trash and drop it.
To drag the image from the window and drop it onto the container makes
another "image set" which contains only the image. (See the explanation of
"Move image from an image set to another" below)
If you want to delete the image "frame", you can do it in the following two way;
a. Click the frame of the image. The tiny black rectangle appears
on the each corner of the image and the menu will change to the contaner's.
Select "Cut" or "Clear" menu, then the frame will disappear and the image
layout will also change.
b. Click the frame of the image. Drag the image frame to the Trush and drop it.
・Move image from an image set to another
You can create another image set by drag&drop the ImageMuseum stationary
onto the container, and you can also move the image from an image set to another.
1. Display the floating window which includes the image you want to move.
2. Drag it onto the image frame of another image set.
3. Drop it.
・Image size control
You can also change the size of image. When you select the menu item
"Scale To Frame", the size of image selected changes as frame changes.
This is called "Frame Constrain Mode".
・Save and load image
ImageMuseum itself can load and save image data.
You can create "image set" file according to the following way;
1. Launch ImageMuseum standalone (not into any other container part)
2. Register images
3. Save as an ImageMuseum document
You can use these "image set" file by drag&drop it onto other container part.
